The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
~ William Wordsworth
This week's photo prompt was about where we go to find peace, quiet, solace in our lives. My house is not that peaceful most of the time, too many intrusions that I can't figure out how to ignore or quell. But I am working on it. Sometimes I head to the library, and find a return to calm among the quiet stacks. Most of the time, my husband and I take a walk in the woods. Our favorite is Oakwoods Metropark near our home; the staff there is so friendly, and we know the trails there by heart. I find that just a short walk through these woods resets me, and I am ready to take on the world again. I try to see in Nature what is ours, and not let the world be too much with us..
Mmm I love this! Yes, similar to mine. Do you love the winter like I do? I'm so happy to say goodbye to summer :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post. Beautiful photo and I love that quote!! So wonderful to see some snow after all this heat. :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, so lovely!!!!
ReplyDeleteAn awesome place to get away... :)
ReplyDeleteDifficult to find a place where the world is not too much with us. Looks like you did.
ReplyDeleteGreat parks are such a gift in an urban setting.
ReplyDeleteLibraries definitely are comforting, but I have to agree nature always seems to know just what we need :) and a walk in the woods never disappoints :)... You are so fortunate to have such a place to rely upon!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly where you are coming from, I too love to escape into nature when the world becomes too busy. It revives me each and every time and I am reminded by nature that there is much more to life than the hustle and bustle of the every day.
ReplyDeletehow i want to step onto that path! i too love the peace and austere serenity of nature in the winter.
ReplyDeletelovely place!
